Whether you are a resident or a visitor, it is our intent to serve you to the best of our ability. In 1996, a Community Oriented Policing Services grant added the first full-time police officer position to compliment the Chief of Police position. To accomplish this increased service, the full-time records clerk was reduced to part-time. In accordance with Federal grant guide-lines, the citizens were tasked to create a motto to reflect community policing in Aurora. Former resident Mr. Boone White proposed “Community and Police working in partnership for a Safe Community”. This was abbreviated and adopted for police department stationary and patrol cars to; “Partnership for a Safe Community”.
Please feel
free to contact any of the officers, if we can be of assistance or answer any
question you might have. We are here
to serve you and insure that our community remains a safe haven and neighborly
place for families and
residents. Remember to visit and enjoy our
small town hospitality, during Aurora Colony Day - 2nd week-end in
August
and other events to include Christmas in Aurora.
